Track Control Arm

Volkswagen India (A Division of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd.) has announced a recall action to check and if required, replace the track control arm, on 38, Volkswagen Model – Taigun & Virtus, manufactured between 29 Nov 2023 and 20 Jan 2024. The Authorized Dealers of Volkswagen India will undertake proactive campaign and will perform necessary repairs free of cost. The process will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.

How to find out if your car is covered under this?

The procedure is easy. Just enter your car's VIN code which is combination of 17 characters i.e. letters and numbers, in the search box. VIN code is also stamped on the car body, on a plate under the windscreen in the lower left and mentioned in the vehicle’s Registration certificate. By pressing the "Search" button, you can simply check whether any relevant recall is pending for your vehicle.

• What is the issue with subject Vehicle?

  In few vehicles of Volkswagen / Skoda Models, manufactured during the aforesaid period, due to the production process irregularity at the component supplier’s end, for an identified period, it is suspected that, during the welding process, the weld seam on the affected component “track control arm” might have missed.

• Can I use the vehicle until it is repaired?

  No, we highly recommend to contact nearest authorized dealer to arrange for transfer of your vehicle to the workshop for inspection and necessary repairs.

• Is there a danger for customers?

  The campaign will be to check the weld seam on the track control arm of the front axle and if necessary, replace it.

  The repair will take approximately 30 mins to 60 mins. Any other additional work requested, will require additional time.

• Does this repair has any effect on the performance of the car?

  No.
